About Kristin

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kristin, her husband Gary, and their two grown sons, have enjoyed much of what Northern California has to offer. Kristin and her family’s favorite activities include dining, and theater in the City, spending time in Lake Tahoe, hiking trails, skiing fresh powder, and traveling as often as they can. This year included an exploration trip through the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and another trip is planned this November to explore five cities in China.

Having never heard of Crohns or Colitis, it was quite a shock when Kristin learned of her diagnosis. After years of pain, fear, and medical interventions without any remission, Kristin made a decision to undergo a life changing surgery, which probably saved her life.

In her book, Left Holding the Bag, Kristin shares her journey with refreshing transparency, optimistic humor, and undeniable faith. Kristin believes that when we share our struggles with others, we can reduce our burdens, give each other strength, and ultimately, pass on the precious gift of hope.

Kristin is beyond grateful to have a profound new outlook that has allowed her to appreciate all that life has to offer.
